We are going to go through the steps for making an animated GIF using an older version of Adobe Photoshop, the CS5 edition, – it’s what I currently have available and it does the job just fine.

The animated gif provides relatively small file sizes while maintining good image quality so download times are quite short. For example, a single word moving left to right on the screen with a white background can be created fairly easily. With respect to moving text, you need to plan how each frame of the animation is going to look. But they take some foresight and planning.
